The design challenge was to create a Valentine’s Day visual with a promo zone for a shopping mall. The chosen motifs were a flower (rose), a heart, and logos for the mall and a local humanitarian association (House of Hearts). The solution was based on a playful and eye-catching pattern created by separating and assembling stylized building shapes. This approach was selected for its ability to quickly stand out and differentiate from other Valentine’s Day visuals, while also following current design trends with its “retro-modern” style.
A font was chosen for the title that matched the poster’s stylistic expression and would also be suitable for creating a neon sign for the photo zone. The promotional zone includes a display stand with a key visual and a small shelf to showcase several candle boxes and/or open candles as gift options. The design of the candle boxes was intended to use cost-effective materials while still providing a functional packaging solution. Rather than using expensive boxes with separate lids and bottoms, a more economical option was chosen.
Overall, the design challenge required creating a cohesive visual identity for Valentine’s Day that would attract attention and appeal to shoppers in a busy mall setting. The chosen motifs, patterns, and promotional displays were all intended to achieve this goal and provide a memorable shopping experience for customers during the holiday season.
