The goal of the website redesign for Croatian Mint, a state-owned enterprise that produces coinage and other metal products, was to create a minimalist, clear presentation of the company’s products, with a focus on commemorative coins. It was important that the site clearly communicated the services offered by the mint, as well as the various products available.
One of the challenges I faced on this project was the need to maintain the company’s traditional visual identity while also improving the overall look and feel of the website. This required a careful balancing act, as I had to select elements that would blend seamlessly with the existing branding while still bringing a fresh, modern feel to the site. The website design was based on the visual identity I had previously created for the company.
To improve the product presentation, I suggested replacing the existing photos with renders, which required the creation of detailed instructions and the development of color palettes to harmonize the renders with the previous yellow photos. Additionally, I designed the website to be fully responsive, with dynamic designs that would work across all screen sizes.
I also created a set of icons for the website using the company’s logo as the base shape and incorporating graphics in the negative space. All of the icons followed the same guidelines in terms of line width and the number of elements, ensuring a cohesive look throughout the site.
